Catherine Niu’s short stories and essays can be found in McSweeney’s Quarterly, The Iowa Review, AGNI, Michigan Quarterly Review, Best Small Fictions 2025, and elsewhere. Her poetry and collaborative art projects have been exhibited in museums including the Asian Art Museum of San Francisco and The Manetti Shrem Museum of Art.
She holds an MFA from UC Davis and is a PhD candidate in Creative Writing and Literature at the University of Houston where she is a 2026/27 Cynthia Woods Mitchell Center Graduate Scholar and Inprint Fondren Foundation Fellow.
